Dolphins fined for misleading report on Ryan Tannehill injury
The Miami Dolphins have found themselves in some hot water after their reporting of Ryan Tannehill’s shoulder injury.
The Dolphins reported that Tannehill was a full participant in practice ahead of the team’s Week 6 game, but he actually missed a few reps on Thursday that made that designation inaccurate. According to Albert Breer of The MMQB, that was enough to get coach Adam Gase fined $15,000 and the organization as a whole $30,000.
Source: The NFL fined the Dolphins $30,000 and coach Adam Gase $15,000 for their handling of Ryan Tannehill’s status on the Week 6 injury report. At issue was his practice status that Thursday. Tannehill missed a couple reps, and was listed as a full participant. (1/2)

The root of the inquiry was the team not downgrading Tannehill from questionable to doubtful over the weekend of Week 5. The Dolphins were cleared on that one. (2/2)

Tannehill did not play in Week 6, and is only just now talking about returning to action.
It seems pretty harsh, but the NFL is very serious about accurate injury reports. This is evidence of that.
