Dorial Green-Beckham traded to Eagles

Dorial-Green-Beckham

The Philadelphia Eagles announced on Tuesday that they have acquired wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham in a trade with the Tennessee Titans. The Titans will get offensive lineman Dennis Kelly in the deal.

Green-Beckham, a second-round draft pick in 2015, is a big receiver with a ton of talent who had problems off the field in college. He showed some flashes of brilliance in Tennessee last season but never really caught on as a top receiving option for Marcus Mariota.

With the Eagles’ wide receivers having struggled in training camp, new head coach Doug Pederson must have felt that another option was needed on the outside.

Green-Beckham was a dominant force at Missouri in 2013 when he caught 12 touchdowns and averaged 15.0 yards per reception. However, he was kicked off the team in April 2014 following a disturbing incident that allegedly involved his girlfriend.

It’s somewhat surprising to see the Titans give up on Green-Beckham so quickly, especially since they don’t have many options at wide receiver. You have to wonder if there was something going on behind the scenes.
