Report: Eagles did not tell players Chip Kelly was fired
The Philadelphia Eagles shocked the sports world by announcing the firing of head coach Chip Kelly on Tuesday night. Apparently fans and media alike were not the only ones surprised by the announcement; Eagles players reportedly were too.
NJ Advance Media’s Eliot Shorr-Parks reported on Twitter that Eagles players were not told about the move.
#Eagles did not tell the players that Chip has been fired.
One just found out when I reached out to him for comment.
"Damn. For real?"

Shorr-Parks reports that players found out about the move from Twitter, reporters and other teammates. One player told Shorr-Parks he was “pissed” about the decision. Others did not see it coming, either.
Perhaps the players weren’t informed of the decision because the team didn’t want any leaks of the news, but this is still shocking. Hey, at least it’s still better than learning you have been traded via Twitter like this guy.
