Report: Earl Thomas-to-Cowboys chatter overblown
It sounds like there is more smoke than fire to the rumors linking the Dallas Cowboys to an Earl Thomas trade.
According to Calvin Watkins of The Athletic, a Cowboys source said that talk of a Thomas trade is mostly “media hype” with neither the Cowboys or the Seattle Seahawks particularly eager to compromise.
So what’s the deal with Earl Thomas and the Cowboys? A team official tells @TheAthleticDFW: “It’s a lot of media hype. Seattle not giving him away and we’re not overpaying.”

Pretty much every Thomas-to-Dallas rumor started as a result of Thomas himself. Between that and holding out, trade speculation is natural, but it doesn’t sound like either Seattle or Dallas has ever done all that much to try to make it happen.
