Earl Thomas helps referee with key call on hand going forward
Earl Thomas made a hilarious appearance on the MetLife Stadium PA system during Sunday’s Jets-Seahawks game.
The Seahawks hit Ryan Fitzpatrick as the Jets QB was attempting a pass, causing the ball to come out of his hand. The Jets then recovered the ball far down field, which would have given them an advantage had the play been ruled a fumble.
But as Thomas helpfully pointed out, Seattle hit Fitzpatrick as the QB’s arm was going forward, making it an incompletion rather than a fumble:
Seattle appreciates your assistance, Earl.
