Report: Earl Thomas still considering retirement
Earl Thomas floated the possibility of retiring after he suffered a broken leg during Sunday night’s game against the Carolina Panthers. Apparently there is some legitimacy to his tweet.
Speaking at halftime of “Monday Night Football,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Thomas is indeed considering retirement. However, Schefter did note that the Seahawks believe Thomas was just reacting emotionally when he sent the tweet about retirement.
Here’s what Thomas said not long after the collision (seen here) that led to his injury:
This game has been so good to me no regrets.. A lot is running through my mind including retirement thanks for all the prayers.

Though Thomas will be out for the rest of the season regardless of how far the Seahawks get in the postseason, he won’t have surgery on his fractured tibia. Instead, he will wear a cast which should help him heal.
One of the best defensive players in the NFL, Thomas had 48 tackles and two interceptions this season, as well as several massive hits.
