Eddie Lacy out Week 10 with groin injury

Eddie-Lacy

The Green Bay Packers announced Sunday morning that running back Eddie Lacy has been ruled out for Week 10.

Lacy has been nursing a groin injury, though it did not seem like a major issue during the week. However, the Packers are choosing to be cautious with a home game against the lowly Detroit Lions. They want to get Lacy healthy for a bigger game against the 6-2 Minnesota Vikings next week.

It’s unclear if Lacy, who also dealt with a sprained ankle earlier in the year, has been playing hurt most of the season or is simply out of shape. He has not run well at all and has more than 50 yards rushing in just two games. Backup running back James Starks has played much better than Lacy and was named the starter for Week 10 before Lacy was ruled out.

The Packers are at their best when Lacy is doing this to opponents, and they would love to see that guy make a return at some point down the stretch. Lacy is more talented than Starks, but that has not shown through the first half of the season.
