Eli Manning urges calm over Giants’ slow offensive start

Eli Manning Giants

It’s safe to say the New York Giants were underwhelming in their Week 1 loss against the Dallas Cowboys, but quarterback Eli Manning is urging calm.

Manning urged everyone to “take a breath” on Wednesday as he voiced optimism that the Giants would be able to turn things around in time.

Though Manning threw for 220 yards, the Giants managed just three points against Dallas, with 35 total rushing yards. No receiver had more than 54 yards through the air, with veteran receiver Brandon Marshall making just one catch. A number of the team’s 233 total yards were racked up on the team’s final garbage time drive.

Things need to change — more big plays and a better running game are imperative. The team knows it, and the hope will be that getting Odell Beckham active will at least help with the first part of the problem.
