Eli Manning says he will not waive no-trade clause

Eli Manning says that he will not waive his no-trade clause ahead of this week’s deadline.

The 1-7 New York Giants seem to be ripe for trades ahead of Tuesday’s deadline. There have been questions about whether Manning could be traded, but he is protected by a no-trade clause.

On Sunday, SNY’s Ralph Vacchiano reported that Manning will not waive his no-trade clause because he wants to remain with the Giants.

Guess you can scratch his name off the trade list.

Manning was controversially benched for Geno Smith last year. As poorly as he has played this season, another benching cannot be ruled out. The team’s players reportedly have grown “exceedingly frustrated” with Manning.
