Eric Berry reportedly set to join Chiefs on Sunday
Star safety Eric Berry is reportedly rejoining the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday after sitting out camp and the preseason thus far.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Berry will finally sign his one-year franchise tag. Coach Andy Reid expects Berry to be ready for the regular season despite his missed camp.

The Chiefs cannot really do anything to punish Berry for his absence, as he was an unsigned tagged player and thus not required to report to camp in the first place.
Berry and the Chiefs tried and failed to get a long-term deal done before July 15, and now he’ll have to play on the tag. Things never grew tense between the two sides, however, as far as anyone can tell.
