Report: ESPN set to drop bombshell piece on Patriots power struggle
For the first time in years, reports of internal issues among the New England Patriots have percolated. Now someone is reporting that ESPN is getting prepared to drop a bombshell piece on a major power struggle within the organization.
Boston Sports Media Watch’s Bruce Allen tweeted on Thursday that ESPN is set to publish a piece on Friday about a power struggle between Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, and Robert Kraft.
Source: ESPN readying new hit piece on Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and Robert Kraft set to publish tomorrow morning at 8am. The topic will be a power struggle among the trio as to who deserves the most credit for the dynasty.

Allen says the article will claim that some feel this will be the last year for Kraft, Brady and Belichick working together. He also says the report will claim that Brady went to Kraft to make Belichick trade Jimmy Garoppolo.
The article claims that the rift is so severe many Patriots feel this is the last year together for the trio. Also that Brady went to Kraft to force Belichick to trade Jimmy G. ESPN is planning a full day of promotion tomorrow for the article and its author @SethWickersham

Yes, it’s a bit odd to be reporting about what a report will be saying, but that’s where we are.
Interestingly, The Boston Globe’s Ben Volin wrote a similar piece that was published on Thursday. His report says that Belichick wanted to keep Garoppolo and may have been ready to move on from Brady after the season.
Beyond this Garoppolo-Brady battle that Belichick seemingly lost, there also have been reports of tension between Belichick and Brady’s trainer.
Whether this piece actually is being published remains to be seen. But we do know that reports of this nature have been brewing all season and are heating up now that the playoffs are about to begin.
