Ezekiel Elliott having issues with conditioning?
The Dallas Cowboys expect Ezekiel Elliott to eventually be the best running back in football, otherwise they would not have used the No. 4 overall pick in the draft on him. According to one beat reporter, Elliott needs to get into better shape if he wants to live up to that price tag.
Bryan Broaddus, who covers the Cowboys for the team’s official website, was asked by a Twitter followed on Tuesday if he thinks Elliott is experiencing a learning curve. Broaddus sees a different issue.
I've seen him play better in college. He doesn't look as explosive. His conditioning doesn't look right. https://t.co/b4vnUGNQhT

Elliott has rushed for just 134 yards on 41 carries. He has two touchdowns, but he has also fumbled twice. He has already been critical of his own performance.
While transitioning to the NFL can be very difficult for any player, it’s interesting that someone who is close to the team feels Elliott’s conditioning is an issue. Is it possible that all the drama Elliott dealt with during his first offseason in Dallas served as a distraction? We certainly can’t rule it out.
