Ezekiel Elliott receives temporary restraining order blocking suspension

Ezekiel Elliott

Ezekiel Elliott’s six-game suspension from the NFL is back off again.

Elliott was granted a temporary restraining order (TRO) by a district court judge in New York that blocks Elliott from being suspended.

The restraining order is good for 14 days, at which point the judge will rule on whether the suspension should stand or Elliott should be granted a preliminary injunction.

This news comes the same day that the fifth circuit denied a rehearing in the case.

Following this positive news, the running back is likely to play the team’s next two games — at San Francisco and then at Washington. Elliott has not missed a game this season despite an arbitration panel upholding a six-game suspension for a violation of the league’s Personal Conduct Policy.
