Fans donate to pay Carson Palmer’s ‘crotch chop’ fine
Arizona Cardinals fans are joining together to try to pay the fine levied upon Carson Palmer for his crotch chop in last Sunday’s win over Seattle.
Palmer was fined $11,576 for unsportsmanlike conduct after thrusting towards the crowd after a late Arizona touchdown (video here). Now the Cardinals’ radio partner, Arizona Sports 98.7, has established a GoFundMe to try to pay Palmer’s fine, entitled the Carson Palmer Thrust Fund. It’s already raised more than $2,000.
As noted by ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio, Palmer can’t actually pay the fine this way, so the money would probably end up going to charity.
A little solidarity between team and fanbase can’t hurt, I suppose.
