Frank Gore linked to Colts in free agency

Frank GoreFrank Gore might end up in Indianapolis if things do not work out with the San Francisco 49ers.

Gore, who turns 32 in May and is entering his 11th season in the NFL, recently expressed his disappointment with the Niners over Instagram. Gore was paid over $6 million each of the past two seasons but is a free agent and the Niners might not want to give him the type of pay he wants.

If Gore and the Niners are unable to reach an agreement on a new contract, the back should have plenty of suitors.

Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller says the Colts (specifically coaches Chuck Pagano and Rob Chudzinksi) want him. Miller also mentions the Redskins and Dolphins as teams that could be interested in Gore, but he described the Colts as a “shoo-in” to get Gore.

Despite his age, Gore is still productive. His 4.3 yards per carry average last season was an improvement on the year before, and the 302 yards he combined for in the final two regular season games last season show he still has plenty left in the tank. The only question is whether he would be willing to go to another team after spending his entire career in one place.
