Fred Jackson: Bills at a ‘huge disadvantage’ because of snowstorm

fred-jacksonThe Buffalo Bills have yet to determine if they will be able to play their game against the New York Jets on Sunday, let alone getting back to practice. The entire Buffalo area is covered in several feet of snow, and Wednesday’s practice was canceled due to a travel ban.

The Jets are still at home preparing for Buffalo, while Fred Jackson says it’s “not looking good” for the Bills to resume practicing on Thursday.

“I’ll tell you, we’ll be at a huge disadvantage,” Jackon told the NFL Network on Wednesday. “But it’s what we have to do. As a professional, you got to try and prepare as best you can.”

Bills head coach Doug Marrone and his coaches have been forced to tape segments of their game plan for Sunday and send them to the players digitally, so they can study at home.

“It’s just as simple as looking at an iPad,” Jackson said. “They put all the game plans — what we want to do in situations — it’s all on there. So we’re looking at it, studying it that way. … That’s about the only way we can prepare.”

Jackson has also been preparing by tossing his kids into five-foot piles of snow.

This is obviously far from a normal week of preparation for the Bills. Heck, Marrone had to help out a stranded motorist on his way to work earlier this week. And Mario Williams drove his Caterpillar to Jim Kelly’s house to help plow him out. At least the Bills had a few extra days to rest after playing last Thursday.
