Greg Hardy set for second MMA fight with Dana White’s brand
Controversial former NFL player Greg Hardy will continue forward in his MMA career.
Hardy is set for his second career pro MMA fight, according to a report. ESPN’s Ariel Helwani says that Hardy will fight on Aug. 7 as part of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contenders Series card in Las Vegas.
Hardy, who began his amateur MMA career last year, fought in White’s contender series last month. He beat Austen Lane in what was considered his pro debut, making him 1-0. After his 57-second victory, Hardy was offered a developmental contract with the UFC.
Both Hardy’s fight against Lane and his upcoming fight next month against Tebaris Gordon are not official UFC fights, though they count towards his pro record.
The former Carolina Panthers All-Pro defensive lineman has not played in the NFL since 2015. Teams no longer had interest in him after his slew of off-field issues, which including serious domestic violence allegations, as well as a cocaine arrest.
Hardy is 4-0 including his three amateur fights.
