Report: Greg Hardy telling teams he has received extensive counseling

Greg Hardy

Greg Hardy is working to convince NFL teams that he has made an effort to account for the off-field issues that have plagued him throughout his career.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that Hardy’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has sent all 32 NFL teams detailed information that explains how Hardy has been working with doctors and mental health counselors in an attempt, basically, to become a better person. According to Florio, Hardy has been evaluated and treated by “multiple” NFL physicians who have worked with him on issues like “anger management, temper management, domestic violence, and evaluation for ADHD.” Hardy has attended individual and group counseling and taken part in at least two-dozen psychiatric therapy sessions.

Rosenhaus claims Hardy will continue to receive treatment and is also taking classes at the University of Mississippi.

It’s interesting that domestic violence is one of the areas in which Hardy has received counseling, as the 27-year-old has maintained he did nothing wrong despite the disturbing photos that were released during the 2015 season. It’s nice to hear that he is supposedly trying to get help, but some teams will undoubtedly view that as an admission of guilt.

Beyond the more serious off-field issues, Hardy also reporteldy became a distraction in the Dallas Cowboys’ locker room last season. His baggage is an undeniable as his talent level.
