Hue Jackson reportedly fell in love with RG3 at private workout
Robert Griffin III’s private workout with the Cleveland Browns was apparently a life-changing experience for coach Hue Jackson.
Jackson, according to NFL Media’s Jeff Darlington, told team executives and owner Jimmy Haslam at a post-visit meeting that “it felt like the Earth moved beneath my feet” while watching Griffin roll out and pass, describing his accuracy as “freakish.”
Jackson’s glowing recommendation prompted Haslam to tell his football operations people “go get him.”
Jackson is regarded as a guy who can get the best out of quarterbacks, and he and Griffin seem to have developed an immediate rapport. Given that Griffin allegedly had difficulties with the coaching staff in Washington, perhaps the full support of a coaching staff will be good for him. Of course, he’ll still have to deal with questions of character issues for the foreseeable future, but he could answer those as well.
