Hue Jackson to jump into Lake Erie on June 1 to fulfill promise
Cleveland Browns coach Hue Jackson is making good on a promise he made before the season that backfired on him rather spectacularly.
After the Browns went 1-15 in 2016, Jackson vowed that he would jump in Lake Erie if they didn’t improve in 2017. They promptly went 0-16, but Jackson is keeping his word and doing some good with it, according to the team’s official website.
Jackson will be joined with club employees when he does the stunt on June 1, and pledged to donate $100 for every employee that jumps in the lake with him to the Hue Jackson Foundation, which fights human trafficking.
Unfortunately, the general public won’t be able to join Jackson, as the jump will be limited to club employees and be done in a private location.
The water should be warmed up a bit by June. Maybe this was what Jackson meant when he said no other coach could handle the Cleveland job.
