Jack Del Rio: Playing on dirt is ‘a little embarrassing’
The Oakland Raiders are receiving a nice bonus in Week 5. Not only are they hosting their second game of the season, but they will also be playing on an all-grass field.
Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio is psyched about that development, noting that “it’s a little embarrassing” to play on dirt.

The Raiders share the Coliseum with the Oakland A’s, whose season ended last weekend. The Raiders played three road games in their first four contests and had all-grass fields, but they had the dirt infield to deal with for their first home game because the field had a baseball setup. Now with the A’s season over, it’s back to all grass.
It is embarrassing to play on anything other than an all-grass/turf field. Avoiding things like that is part of the reason the Raiders are moving to Las Vegas.
