Jacoby Brissett reportedly has torn ligament in thumb; Patriots deny

Jacoby Brissett

Could the New England Patriots need yet another quarterback?

Jacoby Brissett reportedly tore a ligament in his right thumb during Thursday’s game against Houston, and will likely need surgery to repair it.

A Patriots source downplayed that report.

In fact, there is even some hope that Jimmy Garoppolo might be able to return for Week 4.

We’re guessing the Patriots will find a way to avoid having to turn to this guy as their quarterback. They will have a ten day window to get it together, and they only have to survive one more week before they get Tom Brady back.
