Jameis Winston still confident despite rocky start to career
A season and a half into his NFL career, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston has lost a lot more often than he was used to.
Winston has now played 24 NFL games and lost 15 of them. That comes after winning 26 of the 27 games he started at Florida State. It’s not something he’s used to, but the lack of success hasn’t dented his confidence.
“Confidence-wise, it’s easy, because I’m not a loser,” Winston said, via Jenna Laine of ESPN. “We’re winners in this building. And I believe it’s a choice. It’s a mentality that we’ve gotta have and we’re building. We’re heading on the right path. We just gotta get over the hump, and I’m going to do what I need to do to help us get over there.”
Not all of those losses have been Winston’s fault, but he has definitely had his share of struggles. He seems to be keeping his head up despite the on-field adversity.
