Jameis Winston got crab legs from Capt. Keith Colburn of ‘Deadliest Catch’
After he was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night, Jameis Winston shared a photo of himself on social media enjoying crab legs. He later deleted the photo, leading many to believe Winston was poking fun at himself and the team told him the joke was not a good idea.
However, there may be more to the story than meets the eye. Winston wrote “Thanks Capt for the crab legs” when he posted the photo on Instagram. As it turns out, he may have been genuinely thanking Capt. Keith Colburn of the TV series “Deadliest Catch.”
If people only knew how STUPID they sound killing this kid over that picture smdh

King’s story checks out. Earlier this month, Colburn and his brother Monte were auctioning off Alaskan king crab at former Bucs fullback Mike Alstott’s event. A massive crab leg was handed to Winston as a joke, and he was apparently a good sport about it.
Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times — who confirmed King’s narrative — added that the photo was not intended to make light of Winston’s shoplifting incident but that the Bucs did advise him to remove it.
The pic of Winston Thurs wasn't taken to make light of the crab legs incident at Publix that resulted in a civil citation. However…

Once #Bucs became aware of the Instagram pic of Winston, they encouraged having it removed from his account.

OK, so maybe there was a lot more to the story. But shouldn’t Winston know how most people are going to perceive the photo, even if he recently offered an explanation for his embarrassing incident at Publix? He can’t be surprised by the backlash.
