James Starks suffered concussion in car accident
Green Bay Packers running back James Starks has been surprisingly absent from practice this week, and now we know why.
The team revealed on Wednesday that Starks is sitting out with a concussion, but there were no signs that he sustained a head injury during last week’s win over the Seattle Seahawks. That’s because the veteran did not suffer the injury on the football field.
McCarthy on Starks concussion: He was in a car accident Monday. He’s in the concussion protocol.

Fortunately, Mike McCarthy said Starks is doing fine otherwise.
The Packers have had horrible luck with their backfield this season, as Eddie Lacy is out for the year with an ankle injury and Starks just recently returned from a knee procedure. Green Bay’s best running back at the moment is probably a guy who started the year as a wide receiver, but even he has had some health issues. In what is forecast to be a brutally cold game in Chicago Sunday, the Packers may need someone to step up and carry the load.
