Jerry Jones calls Ezekiel Elliott suspension a ‘setback’
Ezekiel Elliott’s suspension was reinstated Thursday after a federal court of appeals lifted an injunction that blocked the six-game ban, but the Dallas Cowboys are not prepared to give up their fight just yet.
In an appearance on 105.3 The Fan Friday, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Elliott’s case is not over and called Thursday’s decision a “setback.”
Jerry on Zeke: "This was a setback yesterday. There's still more to come."

Jerry: "The Cowboys and Zeke do not think the suspension was done in a fair way. Zeke did not get treated fairly here."

A panel of three judges from the 5th circuit ruled that there were procedural issues with the way the NFLPA handled Elliott’s case, both with the timing of the motion they filed to block the suspension and the location in which they filed it. Elliott can still explore further legal options such as filing a request for a temporary restraining order in New York, and his lawyers say they are exploring all options.
Jones was blindsided by the NFL’s original decision to suspend Elliott, especially after some of the things he was led to believe during the investigation. Elliott and the NFL will likely go back and forth a while longer, but ultimately we expect the results for Zeke to be the same that they were with Tom Brady and Deflategate.
