Report: Jets ‘actively shopping’ Sheldon Richardson
The New York Jets may not be looking to hold a fire sale leading up to the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday afternoon, but they are reportedly interested in seeing what they can get for star defensive end Sheldon Richardson.
According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the Jets were “actively shopping” Richardson as the deadline approached.

Another report from Rich Cimini of ESPN.com indicated the Jets called the Dallas Cowboys to gauge their interest in Richardson, so it appears the team is looking to unload the former first-round pick if the price is right.
Richardson has been suspended twice for off-field issues and reportedly had a heated altercation in the locker room with a veteran teammate earlier this year, so it’s unclear how much teams would be willing to give up. He’s only 25 and certainly has the talent to attract at least a second-round pick in a deal. It will be interesting to see if the Jets can work something out.
