Report: Jets will pay ‘whatever it takes’ to land Kirk Cousins

The New York Jets need a quarterback, and they’re willing to make a big commitment to the best one on the potential free agent market.

According to Rich Cimini of ESPN, the Jets will pay “whatever it takes” to land Kirk Cousins on the market. The challenge will be convincing Cousins that they can build a high-level roster around him so that he will have a chance to fulfill his championship ambitions.

Cimini notes that Cousins is pretty much the only plan for the Jets, and they “badly” want to bring him to New York.

Cousins to the Jets certainly makes a lot of sense from the team’s perspective, and they certainly have the cap space to turn his head with a huge offer. There will, however, be other suitors, and they may be able to make a more compelling case to the veteran quarterback that he can win a championship with them.
