Jets players share thoughts on Marshawn Lynch dancing during game

Marshawn Lynch delighted the home crowd during the Oakland Raiders’ blowout victory Sunday by dancing on the sideline, but the players on the opposite side of the field did not appreciate it.

After their team lost 45-20, several New York Jets players were asked about Lynch’s dance moves. Some of them did not hold back.

“It irks my ever-living nerves,” linebacker Jordan Jenkins said, via Rich Cimini of ESPN.com. “When I saw it happening, it was infuriating. … That pissed me off. I’m an old-school guy. I don’t like when things like that happen. That was embarrassing, losing like that and having Marshawn dance like that.

“Great player, but seeing that happen, that should infuriate the whole team. It should infuriate everybody and we should have a good response coming into next Sunday.”

Lynch was understandably excited after scoring his first touchdown in front of the hometown fans. Linebacker Darron Lee said the Oakland native is free to do whatever he wants on his own home field, but that doesn’t mean the Jets have to like it.

“It’s their house — they can do whatever they wants — but as a competitor, as a defender, you don’t like to see that type of stuff,” Lee said. “It’s demoralizing, but we have to bow up and keep fighting.”

Nose tackle Steve McLendon made similar remarks.

“We’re upset because it seems like he was rubbing it in our face,” he said. “But he’s winning, man. He can do whatever he wants to do.”

Between becoming a dancing fool in Week 2 and being caught making an inappropriate hand gesture in Week 1, Lynch’s time with the Raiders is off to an animated start. Not surprisingly, he said working the crowd during a big win Sunday “felt good.”
