Jim Kelly brought daughter Erin as his date to NFL draft
One of the best stories of the NFL draft was the attendance of former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly, who was there to announce the team’s second round pick on Friday.
Kelly received a standing ovation from the Chicago crowd when he announced the team’s selection of Florida State CB Ronald Darby. He said being there and feeling the love from the fans helps inspire him to continue pushing through his battle with cancer. As of August, Kelly was cancer-free.
If you saw Kelly at the draft, you would have noticed he was there with his family. Daughter Erin was on the stage with his dad and posted on social media about her time there. On Instagram, Erin described herself as her dad’s date for the event.

Oh, and before we forget, let’s clarify that Kelly’s wife Jill was there too, so probably qualified as her husband’s real date. Still, that shouldn’t take away from the joy and inspiration Erin probably brings to her father’s life.
