Jimmy Garoppolo listed as doubtful for Patriots’ Week 3 game
Jimmy Garoppolo has officially been listed as doubtful on the New England Patriots’ injury report for Week 3.
The Pats have a short week and will face the Houston Texans at home on Thursday night. They were hoping that Garoppolo would be able to play in the game despite suffering a shoulder injury in Sunday’s Week 2 win over the Miami Dolphins, but that is looking less likely to happen given the “doubtful” tag.
Here is a look at the Pats’ injury report:

Garoppolo was a limited participant in the Patriots’ practice on Wednesday.
Rookie Jacoby Brissett is likely to start at quarterback for the Patriots, with wide receiver Julian Edelman serving as the No. 2 QB. Having Edelman as the backup may sound crazy, but the playmaker was a quarterback in college at Kent State and even threw a touchdown pass two seasons ago.
The doubtful tag for Garoppolo is not surprising given reports that he was having trouble lifting his right arm. The Pats supposedly have been putting pressure on him to play through the pain.
