Jimmy Graham frustrated after 1-catch game in loss

Jimmy Graham milk carton

You mean to tell me that an All-Pro tight end was frustrated after he was only targeted twice in a loss that dropped his team to 0-2? Now there’s a shocker!

Jimmy Graham only caught one pass for 11 yards as his Seahawks lost to the Green Bay Packers 27-17 on Sunday night. He was only targeted twice in the game as the offense didn’t muster much.

Headlines have been flying Monday that Graham is frustrated with his role in the offense based on a paragraph from NFL Media’s Michael Silver, who wrote the following after the game:

I’m not saying that perennial Pro Bowl tight end Jimmy Graham — acquired in a celebrated offseason trade with the New Orleans Saints — was quite that upset after catching just one pass for 11 yards on Sunday night, but he clearly wasn’t thrilled. Normally a cooperative and amiable interview subject, Graham dressed in an area of the locker room not accessible to media, emerged with his head down and headphones on and brusquely walked toward the exit, declining to stop when I got his attention. I can’t be 100 percent positive, but I strongly suspect he was avoiding an interview because he feared he might say something overly negative. Let’s keep an eye on his situation going forward.

Again, what Pro Bowl receiver/tight end wouldn’t be frustrated after a loss in which he was underutilized? This is pretty common.

We knew going into this that Graham didn’t like the Seahawks and wasn’t happy about the trade to begin with. If they don’t start throwing him the ball, things could get bad.
