Joe Thomas reportedly will not request trade from Browns

The prevailing wisdom is that the Cleveland Browns are open for business, but at least one of their players reportedly isn’t agitating for a move.

Offensive tackle Joe Thomas will not ask for a trade prior to the Nov. 1 deadline, according to Pat McManamon of ESPN.

Thomas, who was nearly traded to the Denver Broncos last year, wants to stay with Cleveland, as he likes both the city and coach Hue Jackson.

It doesn’t guarantee that Thomas will remain with the team, however, as Cleveland will not shy away if they receive an offer they simply can’t refuse.

At 31, Thomas is still an elite offensive lineman. He’d be a nice pickup for a lot of teams, but it remains to be seen if someone steps forward – or perhaps everyone will be too scared off by his, ahem, injury concerns going forward.
