Rookie WR John Ross may try to play in Bengals’ opener
Cincinnati Bengals rookie wide receiver John Ross may try to give it a go on Sunday despite not being expected to play.
Ross hurt his knee in the Bengals’ final preseason game, putting his status for Week 1 in jeopardy. Not only was he not expected to be available for Cincinnati’s Week 1 opener against Baltimore, but there was a real chance he would also be held out for the team’s Week 2 game on Thursday because it’s a short week.
However, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport says Ross will at least give it a shot Sunday.
The #Bengals do not expect WR John Ross (knee sprain) to play today, source said. He may work out pregame to give himself a shot, though.

The rookie speedster is questionable for the game.
A.J. Green, Brandon LaFell and Tyler Boyd will likely see the bulk of the targets as long as Ross is unavailable.
