Report: Johnny Manziel almost certain to start in Week 15
Are the Cleveland Browns finally ready to turn things over to Johnny Manziel?
According to Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com, a source connected to the Browns estimates that there is at least a “99% chance” Manziel will start over Brian Hoyer against the Cincinnati Bengals next weekend.
While it may seem obvious that Manziel deserves a shot, Cleveland head coach Mike Pettine has been incredibly loyal to Hoyer all season long. Pettine has stuck with Hoyer during a stretch in which the veteran quarterback has thrown zero touchdown passes and seven interceptions in three games. Hoyer’s passer rating is 25.4 during that three-game span.

It’s hard to imagine Manziel could be much worse than Hoyer, and the words Johnny Football muttered during Sunday’s loss to the Indianapolis Colts seemed to indicate he agrees.
At 7-6, the Browns are still in the playoff hunt. But do they have a winning record because of Hoyer or in spite of him? It’s starting to look more like the latter.
