Johnny Manziel’s lawyer Bob Hinton resigns from case
Bob Hinton, one of the attorneys who was representing Johnny Manziel in the NFL free agent’s domestic violence case, stepped down on Monday.
The news was confirmed by Manziel’s lead attorney Jim Darnell.

Hinton’s withdrawal came days after he accidentally sent a text message to an Associated Press reporter revealing that Manziel is seeking a plea deal after being charged with assaulting his ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley. The text, which was meant for another attorney, also indicated that Manziel spent over $1,000 on drug paraphernalia recently.

Darnell reiterated over the weekend that Manziel still will not plead guilty, though he did not go into detail.
Not long after Hinton’s unfortunate text message, Manziel’s own father made some incredibly troubling comments about his son. Manziel’s NFL career remains very much in doubt.
