Joseph Addai reportedly ‘quit’ during Patriots’ conditioning test

Joseph Addai’s reputation is taking a major hit after he reportedly “quit” on a Patriots conditioning test.

The former Colts running back was signed by the Patriots to a one-year deal in May, but he was released by the team on Wednesday before the team even held its first training camp practice.

According to Mary Paoletti of CSN New England, Addai struggled during his conditioning test and simply “quit.”

We don’t know what exactly went into this conditioning test, but since these are professional football players we’re talking about, we’re guessing it involved a lot of running, sprinting, jumping, and maybe some weight lifting.

And if Albert Haynesworth managed to pass the Pats’ test — the same guy who failed the Redskins’ test twice — then the report reflects even more poorly on Addai.

The truth is Addai has become ineffective while battling injuries to only play 20 games the last two seasons. Had he not been in the Colts’ high-powered offense, he probably would not have had the limited success he had in the NFL.
