Josh Gordon submits DNA test in paternity suit, avoids arrest

Josh Gordon

Josh Gordon appeared in a Cuyahoga County court on Wednesday to avoid an arrest related to a paternity suit.

An arrest warrant had been issued for the Browns receiver earlier in the day, but it was withdrawn after Gordon made his appearance.

Gordon also submitted a DNA test, according to Cleveland.com.

Gordon’s attorney told Cleveland.com that the receiver was not aware that he needed to appear in court, but that he showed up as soon as he found out about it. However, that story may be difficult to believe considering the judge in the case submitted numerous requests for Gordon to take a paternity test over the past year.

The child at the center of the case is a year old. If Gordon is determined to be the father, a child support payment system would be set up dating to the beginning of the girl’s life.

Gordon is currently serving a four-game suspension and expected to return to the Browns’ lineup in Week 5.
