Report: Josh Gordon has not applied for reinstatement

Josh Gordon

There have been rumors swirling about Josh Gordon potentially being reinstated by the NFL in the near future, but the wide receiver has apparently not yet asked the NFL to lift his indefinite suspension.

According to a report from Pro Football Talk, Gordon has not applied for reinstatement.

That could change in the near future, as a former Olympian who is training with Gordon recently revealed that the 26-year-old was set to complete his 90-day stint in rehab and expects to be welcomed back to the NFL.

Gordon, who is still under contract with the Cleveland Browns, applied for reinstatement back in May but was denied. The latest comments made by Roger Goodell did not make it sound like Gordon will be returning to the NFL any time soon. It’s unclear how the situation will change if the star wideout has, in fact, completed his 90-day program and can pass the necessary tests.

In addition to failing drug tests on multiple occasions since he entered the NFL, Gordon was arrested in 2014 for driving while impaired. If he’s fortunate enough to be reinstated again, he’ll be down to his final strike.
