Josh McDaniels still expected to take Colts head coaching job
Josh McDaniels may not have formally told the New England Patriots he is leaving them next season, but the offensive coordinator is apparently going to keep his word with the Indianapolis Colts.
According to Colts reporter Mike Chappel, McDaniels is still expected to be named the next head coach in Indy despite the strange reports that floated around before the Super Bowl.
Realize there's 'chatter' out there, but I've been told Colts are moving ahead as planned. Fully expect Josh McDaniels next HC. Maybe an announcement Tuesday and a presser Wed or Thurs.

If McDaniels is, indeed, still taking the Colts job, that’s a strong indication that Bill Belichick plans to return in 2018. McDaniels would almost certainly stick around to become the next head coach in New England if Belichick was retiring, which some reports have hinted at.
Belichick gave the answer you’d expect when asked about his future following New England’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Assuming the Colts do name McDaniels their head coach, we’ll have our answer about Belichick.
