Josh Norman to join FOX as NFL analyst

Josh Norman

Not-so-mild-mannered shutdown corner by day, television superstar by night.

According to a report by Emily Kaplan of MMQB on Monday, Redskins cornerback Josh Norman is set to join FOX’s NFL coverage as a regular contributor for the coming season. The agreement is for one-year and a minimum of 10 appearances.

“I haven’t told Coach [Jay] Gruden or [defensive coordinator Joe] Barry yet, but I’ll give them a nice shout out on TV,” Norman says. “It’s not at all going to be a distraction. If you keep your focus on you and not anybody else, you’re going to be fine. I’m going to be me on Sunday.”

The 28-year-old Norman is following the lead of Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall, who has been an analyst for Showtime’s NFL coverage since 2014 in a gig that was previously unheard of for an active player. Norman is reportedly expected to participate in pre-taped segments and live hits. He also will have the opportunity to travel for in-studio shows during his bye week and could even make television appearances on the same day he has a game.

Norman’s first appearance is slated for Fox NFL Kickoff on September 11, and hopefully it goes better than the last time we saw him on TV.
