Julian Edelman issues challenge to Patriots after bad loss
Julian Edelman expects the Patriots to bounce back in a major way following a disappointing loss to the Tennessee Titans.
The Titans jumped out to a 17-3 first quarter lead and never looked back on the way to a 34-10 victory over New England on Sunday. The loss was the third of the season for the Patriots. While it’s not how New England wanted to head into the bye week, Julian Edelman expects the Patriots to come out fired up on the other end. He challenged his team and said they can either tank or do well in response to the defeat.
Julian Edelman: "You're going into that bye week with a dirty taste in your mouth. So you can either do well from it, or you could tank it. Guys are going to be out there fiery. It's up to us. … We've got a resilient bunch of guys."

If there is a team you can expect to come out sharp and focused after heading into a bye week with a loss, it’s one coached by Bill Belichick. New England is still in first place in the AFC East, which is where many expected them to be at this point in the season. It wouldn’t be at all surprising to see the Patriots run off a few consecutive wins in November and December to put the division out of reach.
