The 30-year-old Forsett was released by the Baltimore Ravens earlier this month after rushing for 98 yards in three games for them this season. The nature of Forsett’s announcement was fitting given how he campaigned for a job on Twitter in hilarious fashion last week.
Forsett is only two years removed from a 1266-yard, eight-touchdown campaign in 2014. While expecting that kind of production from him in Detroit is definitely unrealistic, he should nevertheless help out a 2-3 Lions team with Ameer Abdullah on injured reserve, Theo Riddick better as a pass-catcher than as a runner, and Dwayne Washington banged up and ineffective.
