Kellen Winslow II reportedly arrested in connection with residential burglary

Kellen Winslow

We have not heard a whole lot from Kellen Winslow II since he was supposedly attempting an NFL comeback two years ago, but it sounds as if the former tight end has gotten himself into some legal trouble.

According to a report from KUSI in San Diego, Winslow was arrested on Thursday in connection with a residential burglary. Police responded to a report of a man walking into a neighbor’s house and then leaving after he was confronted.

The reporting party confronted the male because he did not recognize him as being the resident who lived there. After being confronted, the male left the residence and got into a black SUV and drove away.

Deputies checked the area and located the matching vehicle on El Camino Real. Deputies stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver of the vehicle. The driver was positively identified as the male subject who had been in the residence.

He was later identified as Kellen Winslow, II, age 35. Winslow was placed under arrest for residential burglary and booked into custody at the Vista Detention Facility.

Winslow was drafted by the Cleveland Browns with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft. His best season was in 2007 when he made the Pro Bowl, but he went on to have a somewhat rough career after that. Winslow, the son of Hall of Fame tight end Kellen Winslow, last played for the New York Jets in 2013, and nothing ever came of the announcement he made more than two years ago.
