Landry Jones carted off with foot injury, Roethlisberger forced into action

The Pittsburgh Steelers took a chance and put Ben Roethlisberger on the active roster for Sunday’s game against Cleveland, setting him as Landry Jones’s backup. On the first drive of the game, Jones was injured, and Roethlisberger was forced into action.

Jones appeared to roll his ankle on a third down play. He had to be helped off the field and then carted to the locker room. With Roethlisberger the only other active quarterback, he was put in just a week after suffering a foot injury of his own that was originally supposed to keep him out for a few weeks. Michael Vick, while healthy, was left inactive.
