Eagles’ Leodis McKelvin calls Falcons ‘a front runner’
It’s fair to say that Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Leodis McKelvin came away unimpressed after facing the Atlanta Falcons.
McKelvin, whose interception with a minute and a half remaining sealed the Eagles’ 24-15 victory, made clear his belief that the vaunted Atlanta offense loses its swagger when plays are made against them.
“I was telling the defense, this is the type of team, they a front runner” McKelvin said of the Falcons, via Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com. “If you go out there and make some stops, they eventually are going to be dying down.”
McKelvin was also unimpressed with the playcalling that led to his interception.
“They ran the same play back-to-back,” McKelvin said. “Like, don’t do that. That is just a bad mistake. They ran the same thing back-to-back, and I made a play.”
Full credit to the Eagles. The Atlanta offense is so explosive, it has cost players their job this season, but Philadelphia held them to just 15 points. Front runners? That remains to be seen. It was probably just a bad day all around.
