Attorney says LeSean McCoy ‘did nothing wrong’

LeSean McCoy Bills

A defense attorney representing LeSean McCoy says the Buffalo Bills running back “did nothing wrong” in a nightclub fight that sent two off-duty police officers to the hospital.

McCoy and three friends are accused of getting into a fight with two off-duty police officers a week and a half ago that left the victims with serious injuries, including a broken nose and broken ribs for one and a possible skull fracture for the other. A report said an arrest warrant was expected to be issued for McCoy and his friends, but has not yet come.

The Philadelphia District Attorney’s office is expected to hold a news conference Thursday or Friday about the matter, according to The Buffalo News. Meanwhile, one of McCoy’s attorneys defended his client.

“We’re awaiting a decision by the DA’s office,” attorney Dennis Cogan told The Buffalo News. “We trust that they are really taking time to consider all the surrounding circumstances. But I’m here to say and I’m telling you that McCoy did nothing wrong, nothing wrong. And he was sober. The questions will have to be asked about the conditions of other people.”

The DA’s office may announce that charges will be filed and warrants are issued, but that still has not happened. The fight reportedly started over an argument about a bottle of champagne. If Philly’s mayor has any say in the matter, then based on these harsh comments, McCoy will not be getting off easily.
