LeSean McCoy grabs knee in pain, jogs off field

LeSean McCoyLeSean McCoy went down in pain during the second quarter of the Philadelphia Eagles-Kansas City Chiefs game on Thursday night, but he was able to jog off the field despite his possible knee injury.

McCoy took an inside handoff from Michael Vick on second and 10 from Eagles territory. He ran 18 yards for a first down before being tackled. He immediately grabbed his knee in pain. McCoy appeared to be hurting badly and unbuckled his helmet as he was on the ground.

NFL Network went to a commercial while McCoy was receiving attention, but when they returned from the break, McCoy was seen jogging off the field. He then walked into the locker room on his own.

The Eagles have termed it a “right leg” issue for now. Any time you see a player look like they’re in as much pain as he was, you have to be highly concerned.

UPDATE: McCoy did not start the second half, but he returned to action on their opening drive of the third quarter. He broke a long run a possession later and seemed to be fine.
