LeSean McCoy raves about ‘special’ Josh Allen

LeSean McCoy Bills

Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy has not been around Josh Allen very long, but he already likes what he sees.

Addressing reporters on Tuesday, McCoy raved about the rookie quarterback.

“I gotta be honest, he’s pretty good,” said the six-time Pro Bowler. “And I’m not a big fan of rookies. Probably my best rookie I think I liked in my career has probably been Tre [cornerback Tre’Davious White]. Tre is really good. And a lot of guys as rookies, they’re not like him.

“[The] quarterback is on that level,” McCoy added. “He’s good. He’s smart. He has to learn, of course. He throws some passes that probably shouldn’t have been thrown. But other than that, strong arm, he’s very intelligent … As a talent level, he’s gonna be really good for a lot of years, and I wanna be a part of that when he takes over eventually. We took him early in the draft, so that’s common sense. But he’s special, that’s for sure.”

The 22-year-old Allen was taken by the Bills with the No. 7 overall pick in this year’s draft but may have gotten off on the wrong foot with his new teammates to start. Regardless though, it is obvious that Allen is supremely talented, and he is already proving that early on in camp.
