Le’Veon Bell’s agent confirms RB will skip training camp, play Week 1
Le’Veon Bell will not take part in training camp with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the second consecutive year this summer, but the star running back has no plans to stretch his holdout into the regular season.
There has been some talk about Bell potentially sitting out the first several weeks of the regular season to protect himself from a serious injury, but his agent confirmed on Tuesday that Bell will be ready to play in Week 1.
Q: Le'Veon will take the same approach as last year…he will not participate in the off-season and he will be there Week 1?
A: Barring something exceptional…that is correct.

Bell’s agent said Monday that the 26-year-old is in all likelihood entering his last season with the Steelers, but Bell is set to earn more than $800,000 per game this year while playing under the $14.5 million franchise tag. While you can understand why he would want to reduce his injury risk in advance of free agency, was there ever any chance he’d forfeit roughly $7 million?
After the deadline to sign franchise tagged players to long-term deals passed on Monday, Bell gave a strong hint about his intentions for the offseason. His agent has basically removed all doubt.
